Shakespeare Fair 2024
This years Shakespeare Fair sees the whole school participating in two of Shakespeares famous tragedies - Hamlet and Romeo & Juliet.
We start in with Romeo & Juliet in the town square in Verona:
- Villagers buy and sell
- Children dance around the Maypole
- Villages sing a song
- Village Children introduce Romeo and Juliet
Then the calm and peaceful village square is interupted by the fiery Capulets and Montegues starting a fight.
Luckily it is stopped by the Prince of Verona before any injuries are sustained.
Then there is a ball with beautiful dancing, the famous balcony scene and wedding of the 2 main characters.
But..... the Capulets and Montegues ... are at it again .... and this time things don't end so well.....................
After some tasty treats during intermission we come back to watch the performance of Hamlet ... a sad play about betrayal and unforgiveness.
