As a parent, I was drawn to serve on the Board because the school partners with us in raising our children in a Biblical, Christian worldview. I enjoy the opportunity to use my gifting and to grow in the process.

It is refreshing to be part of a school where educational practice (the “how”) is guided by a consistent educational philosophy (the “why”) which responds to natural curiosity.

"Children  want to learn and to know."

It has been deeply rewarding to see teachers and parents working together to nurture and guide children in order to bring about growth in character and in knowledge.

This is true education, and I am blessed and grateful to be part of it!

We chose the Vine school because of the intentional approach to education. What we have seen over the past 6 years at the school,is that this unique method has instilled a real love for learning in each of our children, and as they have matured, this has translated into a self motivated attitude towards their work. I think it also has a lot to do with the fact that all subjects are taught by encouraging deep engagement with the subject matter and is therefore interesting and inspiring for our children. We love that the focus is not just on academics, although the quality of academic learning is excellent. Learning is focused on developing the whole child, including character and understanding who they are in Christ.

Grade R Teacher

I have been teaching in the Grade R class at The Vine School for a number of years. Having taught at other Christian schools I was at first a little hesitant about the methodology but soon realised how rich and beautiful it is. What impressed me most was the atmosphere of honour and respect, especially how the teachers speak to the children and how the staff speak to one another, always building up and encouraging. Since working at The Vine School I have become very alert to nature and things of beauty. When I go for walks, I’m constantly observing colours, birdlife and plants. I have even started painting some of my observations with watercolours. I have noticed that I speak to my grandchildren differently and always praise effort and that which is of good character. I like to give them books which are elegantly written and rich in language. This has been a direct influence from my working environment. If my children were young, they would be attending The Vine School.
